Instead of running cat videos on a regular weekly schedule, I’ve decided to feature them only when one amuses me.

Well, I am happy to say that this video certainly passes that test…

Cat Videos: Cat on a Roomba

In addition to drumming up interest in my book (check out Chapter One), I will be sharing whimsical and funny cat videos from the YouTube archives, usually on Mondays. Enjoy!

This amusing collection of cat videos features cats riding on the automatic vacuum cleaner known as the Roomba.

Our first selection is courtesy of poutamo from Finland and is most appropriately entitled ‘Roomba Driver’…

‘Cleaning Cat uses iRobot Roomba’ is an absolute hoot, and comes from texasgirly1979 and Houston, Texas, by way of Estonia….

And our final selection, from Japan, ‘Cat on a Roomba, No. 2′ continues our international flair, boasting a variation on the Roomba theme by Okuro1999…

Cat Videos: Kitty Wrestling

This week’s cat video, ‘Kitty Wrestling’, was shot by C.B. Cebulski, a writer at Marvel Comics.

As C.B. notes, “These two active little kittens were having a playful Sunday here on Broadway in NYC as they waited for the right person to come along and adopt them…”

After the jump is another cat video from C.B. Cebulski, eerily reminiscent of Vito’s escapades in The Chirping Bird…

C.B. notes, “These pigeons drop by on a daily basis now to taunt Lotto and Clyde. One brave bird did land right on our window sill recently and Clyde almost clawed through the screen to get him. I just wish Clyde’s crazed meows were more audible in this video…”

So please enjoy the most appropriately titled, ‘Why It Sucks to Be an Indoor Cat in NYC’…

I start off the weekly Cat Video feature with one of the funniest and cleverest cat animations I’ve ever seen.

It’s not from Disney. It’s not from Pixar. And it’s not from the Warner Brothers.

It is a wonderfully simple animation by Simon Tofield.

So without further ado, I present the award-winning ‘Simon’s Cat’ and my personal favorite short, “Let Me In”…
